What we do
Most cooling advice online is the same generic top-ten list, republished site after site with a different set of products dropped in. We start from the opposite direction: a bedroom, a home office, a flat with no outdoor unit access, and a static caravan all have genuinely different constraints, so they get different guides and different recommendations — not one template.
How we research and compare
We don't run our own test lab. Our comparisons and recommendations are built from published manufacturer specifications, energy-efficiency ratings, verified retailer pricing and stock data, and independently published test results and standards (such as noise-level and BTU/coverage ratings) — cross-checked across multiple sources rather than taken from a single listing. Where the evidence is thin or conflicting, we say so rather than guessing at false precision.
Every guide and comparison carries a publish date and, where it's been revisited, an updated date, so you can see how current the advice is. Specs and prices are checked periodically, but they do change — always verify the current price and stock with the retailer before buying.
The limits of this advice
Everything on KeepCoolExpert is general information to help you compare options — it isn't professional advice tailored to your specific property, wiring, or circumstances. Where a guide covers installation work (a split system, an air-to-air heat pump, anything involving refrigerant or an outdoor unit), always use a licensed, qualified installer — F-Gas certified for refrigerant handling in the UK, or your region's equivalent — and follow the manufacturer's own instructions. Nothing here replaces a proper professional assessment of your home.
We check specs, prices and figures carefully at the time of writing, but products, regulations and grant schemes change, and we can't guarantee everything stays accurate after publication — always verify current details, particularly price, stock, and eligibility for any grant or scheme, directly with the retailer, installer, or relevant authority before acting.
