Privacy Policy

This policy applies to KeepCoolExpert across every region we operate in (currently the UK, with Australia, New Zealand and South Africa planned) — one policy, not a separate one per region, since what we collect and why doesn't change by market. Where a specific region's law gives you rights beyond what's described here, that's noted below.

What we actually collect today

KeepCoolExpert doesn't have user accounts, sign-up forms, or comments. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand overall traffic and page performance — it's designed by Cloudflare not to use cookies or any other client-side storage, and not to track you individually or across other websites; it reports aggregate figures like visit counts and page load speed, not a profile of you. Separately, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) automatically logs technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, for security and reliability purposes, the same way essentially every website on the internet works. We don't separately collect, store, or have access to a personal profile of you from either of these.

Our interactive tools (like the room-size calculator) run entirely in your browser — the numbers you enter are used to calculate a result on your device and encoded into the page's URL so you can share or bookmark it; nothing is sent to or stored on our servers.

This section will be updated, and a cookie/consent banner added, if we introduce advertising or any sign-up feature (such as an email newsletter) that collects more than the above.

Affiliate links and third-party sites

Some links on this site are affiliate links, and following one to a retailer or a platform like Amazon typically means that site sets its own cookies and collects its own data about your visit, under its own privacy policy — not ours. We don't have access to that data, and we'd encourage you to check the relevant retailer's own privacy policy if you want details on how they track referrals.

Your rights, by region

Wherever you're visiting from, you generally have the right to ask what information (if any) we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted — though as above, there's very little to hold today beyond routine hosting logs.

• United Kingdom: your rights come from UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you're unhappy with how we handle your data.
• Australia: your rights come from the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. You can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
• New Zealand: your rights come from the Privacy Act 2020. You can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
• South Africa: your rights come from the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). You can complain to the Information Regulator.

Children

KeepCoolExpert isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We'll update the date at the top of this page whenever this policy changes, particularly as new regions or features (like analytics, advertising, or a newsletter) go live.
